Custom Extrusion Inquiry (采购产品): Custom Extrusion I found your contact information on ThomasNet and I'm looking into doing a custom plastic extrusion. I'm a mechanical engineer working for Alternative Design Manufacturing in Siloam Springs, AR. We build ventilated housing systems for laboratory animals and we have been forming ductwork stainless steel sheet metal. I'm looking into having some of these extruded from plastic. What I have right now is two vertical sections of duct work that are tied together. Each duct is rectangular and the inside dimensions are approximately 3/4" x 2-1/2". The ducts are spaced apart 2". The length of the ducts is 72". The ducts will have to be able to withstand steam or dry autoclaving, i.e. 300°F for 30 minutes. Attached is a rough drawing of what we have now and the extruded profile I'm thinking about using. http://i14.tinypic.com/2uj5rom.jpg To decide if we are going to go with an extrusion I will need to know quickly what sort of timeline a project like this will entail. I will also need to know a very general cost estimate of extrusion dies and parts. I don't want to complicate things before we get going, but I would also like to mention that we have a few other larger ducts that we might also have extruded if everything seems to go well. These ducts are U shaped and are approximately 3"x3", 3"x6", and 2"x12" with the open side always on one long edge. Please give me a call or send me an email with information about extrusions.
