Inquiry (采购产品): Custom spring? Hi, I am designing an OEM product that needs an inexpensive and lightweight threaded nut-- to accept a universal broom handle. A solid threaded nut is too expensive for our purposes, so we thought a spring would suffice. The broom handle thread is approximately 15/16" Acme thread about 5 threads per inch. I calculate that a 1 inch long steel open spring (no flat ends) with wire diameter .08" and internal diameter of .65 inches and left hand turns .2" apart (5 per inch) would work--(reverse or left hand coil, of course.) We would weld those coils to a steel component--and then thread the universal broom handle into that. If necessary I would purchase long springs (a few feet?) and cut them into 1" lengths for our purposes. What do you think? Is this a shelf item? What price?
