Inquiry (采购产品): muffler for electric vacuum pump Hi Micropore Plastics, I am lookimg for a way to muffle the sound that comes from a small electric vacuum pump. The pump that I am using has a small 12V DC electric motor, which connects to a vacuum pump diaphragm via an offset cam mechanism on the shaft of the motor. There are two sources of noise from these pumps: 1) noise created by the air that emanates from the vacuum outlet; 2) noise created by the electric motor and the cam that is driving the vacuum diaphragm. The noise from the vacuum inlet can be effectively abated by placing a small sintered brass muffler on the vacuum inlet, but I have not found a way to reduce the noise that is created by the pump motor and cam assembly. I was looking for some type of small enclosure that the pump could be placed in, which would muffle the sound of the motor and cam assembly. The dimensions of the pump are approximately 3" long X 1.2" wide X 2.1" tall. An example of this type of pump can be found at http://www.knf.com/pdfs/nmp830.pdf (I am using the pump labeled "UNMP830 DC"). There would have to be two small ~0.3" diameter holes in the enclosure to allow the air and vacuum hoses to run into and out of the vacuum pump. If you think you might have a solution, please contact me. John Koniak **** Hidden Message ***** Jjohn Koniak 2532 n.
