Inquiry (采购产品): Noisy drain pipe I have a ceramic tiled corner shower stall with a 2" cast drain body. Originally I had a 2" ABS trap installed with about 4' of ABS pipe running horizontal to the connection to the vetical riser. The riser drops about 6' to the main line in the basement. The problem is the amount of noise coming back up through the drain into the shower. The noise in the room below can be solved by insulating the pipe. I replaced the p-trap and horiz. ABS pipe with "Quite" no hub cast iron. The noise decreased slighty. My thought is that the noise is coming from where the horiz. pipe drops water down into the vertical drop. The noise of the flow works it's way back up throught the pipe, trap and echo's in the hard surfaced shower. Any suggestions?? We are going to replace the ABS tee at the connection to the drop. Later I may open up the wall as part of a future remodel and change the drop to cast. I can be reached at 530-308-6490.
