Custom crating or pallet Inquiry (采购产品): Custom crating or pallet My name is Timothy Backe and I am a packaging intern over at McAplin Industries. We are a sheetmetal fabrication company based in Rochester, NY. Currently, we have received a bid for work on an order that exceeds normal weight limitations of a pallet. This metal part is 75" x 17" x 0.042". This means that about 50 can be fit on a 45 x 96 pallet. This pallet would weigh about 850lbs but only hold 2.1" deep of product since the material thickness is only 0.042". We are looking at shipments of 1,000, 2,000, or 5,000 at a time with an annual total around 25,000. Based on the fact that only 50 parts could be banded to skid, we'd need 20 skids of parts just to reach 1,000. We don't have the space to build a wing to house these parts. These parts will go through about 2-3 operation steps before they are sent out the door to Ithaca, NY. We'd like to go wit h a crating solution that would hold 2,000lbs of parts or approximately 116-117 parts per crate. These crates would have to be able to stackable . This shouldn't be a problem since they would only be 5" high or 2.5" if the parts were stacked side by side in a crate. What we'd like from you is a quote on how much it would cost to get crates that would handle the 1K,2K, and 5K we'd see in the shop during any given period of time.
