NJAAPT HOLiday Treats Workshop Inquiry (采购产品): NJAAPT HOLiday Treats Workshop Hi, My name is Joe Spaccavento, I am a High School Physics Teacher in New Jersey, and I am also the New Jersey section representative to the American Association of Physics Teachers and a member of the Executive Board of the NJAAPT. For about 14 years now NJAAPT has sponsored a Physics Teacher Workshop titled "Physics Holiday Treats". This years workshop is scheduled for December 2nd at the Physics Lecture Hall at Rutgrs University. During the workshop, we host High School Physics Teachers and their families, 36 who receive a box of goodies, with eveyone sharing some food, seasons greatings and doorprizes. I have served as co-chair and MC for the program since its inception. The idea behind the program is to supply physics teachers with things that they can use with their students that they may not have been exposed to before. So every teacher leaves the event with a big box full of stuff. We spend a few hours demonstrating how everything (all the stuff) can be used. In the beginning many of the items were made by volunteers who made 36 of one thing, etc. This will still be done. We have a modest budget for several items, however in recent years, we have received donations of "Physics Type" items, as well as posters, educational modules and any other classroom aids with the promise that they will be presented and distributed to physics teachers. Everything from mousepads to golf balls and laser pointers to pencils have been generously donated. So: here is my proposition. We are seeking donations of equipment or material with classroom applications. (36 is our magic #) We will present and distribute them with any other information that you send with them such as catalogue, etc. If this is to large a request, we could also accept 1 Item, which will be on display and presented,. this item would then be used as one of many door prizes, your company/organization would be acknowledged, and it will leave in the hands of a physics teacher. In conclusion, if you see this as a way of getting your materials into the hands of physics students we will be happy to use it in our program. If you feel that you have something to contribute we would be happy to graciously accept anything that you can provide us with to make this even even more successful. Thank you, and I look forward to hearing from you. If this is a duplicate email, I apoligize. I find that teaching and the students keep life going, and I would never accept any position in which somebody has invented a happy situation for me where I don't have to teach. Never. Richard P.
