Redesigned numerous air bag metal stampings for a key customer to make them feasible to manufacture and to reduce cost. 2. Redesigned a gasoline tank inlet tube from a two piece tubular part with three secondary operations into a one piece deep drawn stamping made completely in the press without any secondary operations. 3. Redesigned a valve body that was originally a two piece assembly and also developed a way to pierce and extrude the side hole in one operation. Metal Stamping Magazine featured my design in 1985. 4. Designed a fixture to roll grooves on a family of parts so they could be produced as metal stampings. Previously, they were screw machine parts. 5. Reorganized our tool room department consisting of seven tool makers. 6. Designed a quoting chart that reduced our quoting time spent on our largest family of parts by approximately 75%. 7. Redesigned bead and lance operations previously performed as secondary operations to run with the press tooling for complete manufacturability of parts in one operation. 8. Chief designer for U.S. F.I.R.S.T. program for 4 years. Mentored local high school students in the design and build of robots for local, regional, and national competitions.
