The 30% solid slurry product has to be released intermittently through this valve to a flash tank at atmospheric pressure. This valve must pass 108 gallons of slurry in 10 seconds (648 gpm) intermittently at 500 psig and 400 degrees F on the vessel side. Material to be Hastelloy C22 or equivalent for up to 3% sulfuric service. Valve to fit a schedule 80 nozzle with minimum dead space on the vessel side, probably 6 inch nozzle or as recommended. Valve may be spring, pneumatic or hydraulically operated. This may be an application for a ram valve with pressure sensor and control system or self-contained relief valve.
