Inquiry (采购产品): Steel Well Casing I am the local buyer for a missions organization that is drilling water wells in the Cental African Republic. We currently purchase steel well casing from Sweden. We would prefer to purchase it in the United States. From time to time we ship containers from Rockford, Illinois and it would be convenient to ship the well casing in these containers. The well casing produced, at least in the Central part of the U.S., is Schedule 40 and has a wall thickness of about 9/32-inch (the outside diameter is 5-9/16-inches and assuming the inside diameter is exactly 5 inches). (The 9/32-inch wall thickness is dictated by State Well Codes in most of the states in the central part of the country)The casing we buy in Sweden has a 5-1/8-inch ID (130.2 mm) and a 5-1/2-inch OD (139.7 mm) which means the wall thickness is about 3/16 inch. So the U. S. casing is about 50% thicker than the European casing. Accordingly, the price of U.S. casing is about 50% more than European. We would like to find a source of casing in this country that has about the same wall thickness as we get from Sweden. Presumably the cost would be competitive because of less steel used in the pipe. It would be ideal if we could find a source for this casing in Pennsylvania because the containers we use for shipping come from Pennsylvania and the trucker could bring the casing to Rockford in one of the empty containers. I am wondering if there are some states in the Eastern U.S. that perhaps don't require the 9/32-inch wall thickness, and if this is the case, are there suppliers that accommodate the well drillers in these states? Does Interstate Pipe & Supply offer a casing such as we are looking for? Our current need is for about 2500 feet of this casing. If you offer this type of casing we would welcome a quotation.
