See attached Inquiry (采购产品): See attached Good Morning: Although WESTEC is occupying a large mindshare of most metalworking marketers, it’s time to start thinking about EASTEC and the looming IMTS in September. Before we get there, however, MAN – Modern Applications News will be delivering several new, specific articles to our core audience in the country’s short-run, high-precision, quick-change job shops. A few months ago, I predicted in a column that several of the largest American manufacturers were little more than dinosaurs looking for a tar pit into which to fall and expire. I take little joy in noting that this prediction was fairly accurate. I take great pleasure, however, in continually discovering job shops that not only are alive, but thriving and growing. Monthly we present their stories, detailing some of the technologies, tools and talents that best serve the profitability of these shops. You’ve seen these shops, also. They are your customers, using your tools and technology to win a very difficult business battle every day. And, I rely on you to bring these successful shops to my attention so they (and your products) can be presented as proven, productive solutions. In the next several months, I am looking for some very specific examples. And, I need your help with this. Below, is a sketch of the MAN editorial schedule for the next few months. If you have a case history or a new product in one of these areas that shows that the American job shop has a healthy future because of an efficient and profitable present, please give me a call or drop me an e-mail. I’m not the only one who appreciates a new way to make money in metalworking, the 75,000 subscribers of MAN are the ones who really show their appreciation by buying products that have demonstrated their ability to increase productivity and add profit.
