The "bite" given by the staggered small wheels mounted around the circumference of the larger wheel can get traction under almost any surface conditions. The gap between the small wheels can be made to be self cleaning during each rotation of the large "mother" wheel by counter rotating the neighboring small wheels while they are off the ground. A side by side positioning of two "mother" wheels provides a constant contact with the ground by the small wheels that eliminates any "bumping" during the rotation of the "mother" wheel.
