Inquiry (采购产品): pyrex glass and borosilicates I am writing to inquire why it is that adding boric oxide to glass decreases its coeffieicent of expansion. I am researching borosilicates for a project at school, and am so far unable to find any information on this subject. I have understood that the boric oxide will change the properties of the glass. Is this because the internal structure of the material is affected? If so, how exactly does it change?
