Inquiry (采购产品): Modify 5 lb CO2 Extinguisher The Power Squadron is encouraging Boat Owners with inboard engines to install a "fire port" in our engine top hatch of our boat. In discussing this with our local Triple A vendor, he advised that we should not lay the extinguisher flat so the hose will enter the "fire port" as the CO2 will freeze in the bottom and we will only get partial use. So a longer hose is required so that the extinguisher remains up right when in use and the hose is long enough to enter the "Fire Port" so that the hatch does not have to be opened to put out a engine fire. He did not want to do this but suggested I could if I wanted too. Well it seems to me that it would not be a good idea to start modifying fire extinguishers without the manufactures approval. How would you folks suggest we handle this issue? Please e.mail me or call on our 1-800-526-9979 toll free number.
