A piece of spring wire moves in or out of the top, through a small hole. It is attached to an indicator which moves up and down a graduated scale that illustrates the rpm. The sound test has to be performed at a specific RPM: 8000 RPM for motorcycles up to 85cc 7000 RPM for motorcycles over 85cc and up to 125cc 5000 RPM for motorcycles over 125cc and up to 250cc 4500 RPM for motorcycles over 250cc and up to 500cc 4000 RPM for motorcycles over 500cc The model 9286 that you offer seems to be able to do this or do you have a better alternative?
