In light of the aftermath of Hurricane Katrina we realized that over 240 employees of our System lost everything and over 600 with damage to their belongings. Hurricane Katrina has devastated our employees at Singing River Hospital System. Many of our employees have lost all of their personal belongings and household items. Over 240 of our employees lost all or most of their belongings. The employees' needs are many, but one of the most urgent needs is for towels, bed linens, and household linens of all kinds. The stores that normally stock these items have been destroyed or demolished so that even if our employees had the means to pay for them, they could find the material unless they drove a long distance. I am asking your company for assistance. Carnegie Textiles can have an immediate impact on the welfare of citizens within Jackson County Mississippi by providing materials to the people who provide health care for the citizens of Jackson County. Please consider donating materials. Donating to charitable organizations is truly wonderful, but as reported on CNN, the monies and supplies do not come to those in need immediately.
