Inquiry (采购产品): Machining UHMW Polyethylene I am a college Student at The College of New Jersey (formerly Trenton State College). For my Senior Design Project, I need to use a 3 axis CNC router to machine plastic. In a nutshell, I need to make 1 foot square tiles that will line up with one another exactly. Thus, the material I use cannot warp or distort, as that would cause the piece to not mesh with the others. My question is this: does UHMW polyethylene warp when subjected to the heat of a router. I don't have an exact temperature, but wood has a tendency to warp in this machine, I don't know whether this is from the heat or from the nature of wood being machined. I found your web site while searching online for any information. Some sites mention thermal expansion, but I am unsure as to how significant this would be, and at what temperatures this would be a problem. Any help or advice you can give me to machining this plastic or if you know of another plastic that you think would be better suited, would be of great help to me.
