CAM Logic provides Engineering Software Solutions across a wide variety of industries. We are a UGS Business Partner, focusing on the UGS Velocity Series of products which includes Solid Edge, NX CAM Express, Teamcenter Express and Femap. We provide training and implementation services around those products as well. We also provide engineering services which include Knowledge Based Engineering development, Data Conversion services and CAE services. In addition, we are a Z Corporation partner providing Rapid Prototyping technology. I thought of your Company because I know that you do a fair amount of machining and wanted to discuss some changes in the UG NX CAM offering. Are you familiar with NX CAM or possibly using it today? Well, NX CAM is one of the most mature CAM products on the market, developed by McDonald Douglas some 30 years ago. Historically, NX CAM has been packaged to include a CAM component of the software as well as a very powerful CAD application, UG NX or Unigraphics. What UGS has done is re-packaged the offering and is now offering the CAM component as a standalone product. So, in the past to leverage NX CAM a company would have to invest about $40K, where as now it is much more cost effective as the CAD component does not need to be purchased. NX CAM Express offers all of the CAM functionality of NX CAM including simulation, Advanced Machining/5-axis applications as well as interoperability with all major CAD formats. The product is CAD neutral, so any data format can be used to generate NC tool paths.
