Knowledge of development, implementation, and follow through of preventive and predictive maintenance programs. Development and fabrication of special usage equipment. A wide variety of hands on knowledge gained on injection molding machines, to include but not limited to, Cincinnati-Milacron, HPM, Engel, Newbury, Reed, Boy, Goldstar, Dima, Toyo, Toshiba, Van Dorn, and Nessei. Extensive experience with a variety of auxiliary equipment, such as, loaders: Novatech , Conair, IMS, and AEC, both forced and vacuum type; Robotics: Star, Stertech, Automation Engineers, Conair, Yushin, Whittmann, Cincinnati-Milacron, Sepro, and self designed; Plus grinders, mold heaters, conveyors, chillers, cooling units (open and closed types) Working extensively with manuals, schematics, drawings, blueprints, and many other diagrams to successfully build, troubleshoot, rebuild, modify, improve, redesign, and maintain equipment to insure highest possible quality production rates. Strengths in guidance, instructions, management and supervision of other and lesser skilled technicians and mechanics through various troubleshooting, preventive and predictive maintenance procedures; with the knowledge of hydraulics, pneumatics, electrical, and mechanical functions. Scope of experience and understanding of equipment includes, but not limited to proper wiring and rewiring of control panels, rebuilding and debugging all aspects of OEM specifications (or better). In these years of experience, knowledge of various processing procedures also has been gained, with set-up, start-up, troubleshooting and synchronizing of removal and secondary equipment. Including Kaizaning, Six Sigma, SPC, JIT, Lean Manufacturing, and 5 S ing for better production and quality procedures. Involved with the initial audits and finals for ISO 9002, and numerous other audits. Other knowledge deals with PLCs, food experience, ammonia and glycol refrigeration, stamping, wire cutting and termination, internal combustion engines, boilers, air and vacuum compressors, prototyping, secondary equipment to include but not limited to heat staking, deburring, sonic welding, insertion, vacuum forming, poke-yokes, punching, routing building construction and maintaining, handling sub-contractors with both a union and non-union environments. (custom injection molding; automotive, lawn & garden, sports, etc. Salary: $47500 w/o overtime and bonuses Maintenance Supervisor, Lead Technician, Technician: Durham-12 injection molding machines Henderson-15 injection molding machines 75-2750 tons, 40% equipped with robots All aspects of maintenance, to include but not limited to, PM/PdM, troubleshooting, installing new equipment, negotiating with & over seeing contractors. Experience: 2/02-9/03 Lear Corp. Bourbon In. (plant closed) Greencastle In. (laid-off) Automotive injection molding and assembly. Salary: $45000 w/o overtime Maintenance Technician: Facility with 3 land and 64 injection molding machines of various brands and sizes up to 3000 tons, with 90% of the equipment equipped with robotics. Included with a variety of secondary assembly equipment conveyors, painting, and vacuum forming. Building cooling towers, chillers, air and vaccum compressor maintenance and a PM2 type PM/PdM program. Time spent divided building new equipment, troubleshooting, preventive/predictive maintenance, updating/modifying, and repair. 3/01-2/02 Nyloncraft Mishawaka In. (automotive injection molding and assembly) Salary: $35000 w/o overtime. Maintenance Specialist: Plant with 5o injection molding machines of various brands and sizes up to 2500 tons, with approximately 50% equipped with robotics, conveyors. All with automatic loading systems of various types and sizes, with some being vacuum loading from silos. Maintained all building, processing, auxiliary, and assembly equipment.50% of time spent in preventive/predictive maintenance and the remaining 50% of the time spent troubleshooting, repairing and modifying the machines and equipment. 6/97-3/01 Design Plastics Kingsbury In. (closed) Salary: $37000 w/o overtime and bonuses. Maintenance Technician/Supervisor/Manager: Custom/propriety injection molder producing appliances, toys, automotive, electronic parts, consumer goods, and industrial items. Facility housed 12 injection molding machines ranging up to 300 tons with 7 robots. Re-engineered the operation for production optimization. Developed, implemented, and maintained a preventive/predictive maintenance program where none existed. Handled improvements, upgrades, redesign and modifications of existing equipment and was instrumental in all phases of hydraulic, mechanical, electrical, and pneumatic systems. Utilizing blueprints, schematics, drawings and ladder logic in troubleshooting and repairs. Also involved in inventory control, purchasing, and all processing phases, to include but not limited to set-up and start-up. Designed a closed loop cooling system for production and building usage, side entry robots, and numerous other secondary operation equipment (from diagnosing the problem, concept and utilization). Supervised up to 3 direct employees. 7/96-6/97 United Technologies Automotive Bourbon In. (sold and closed) Salary: $37000 w/o o/t Lead Maintenance Technician: Supervised 5-7 classified maintenance technicians/mechanics. Facility operated 24 injection molding machines, press sizes from 150-3000 tons (90% equipped with robots of various types). Secondary PLC controlled assembly equipment was also maintained. Time spent divided between supervising, troubleshooting, PM/PdM, repairing, installing, and redesigning using electrical schematics, blueprints, ladder logic, and drawings. 9/95=7/96 5/88-2/91 D&E Components (Freeman Products) Knox In. (closed) Salary: $40000 w/o o/t and bonuses. Maintenance Manager/Supervisor: Proprietary molder/plater of trophy components with 14 injection molding machines, ranging from 25-550 tons. Developed, implemented and maintained a preventive/predictive maintenance program (which raised production from mid 70% to over 94%). Responsibilities were but not limited to, supervising a staff of up to 5 classified technicians/mechanics, total maintenance program, supervised construction of buildings, contract engineers, and sub-contractors, removal and installation of equipment (dealing with molding, vacuum metabolizing , and plating, and auxiliary equipment. 2/91-9/95 RPM Knox In. (closed) Owner/Manager: Owned and operated a successful retail and service operation dealing with small engines and motorcycles. 7/87-5/88 Wells Aluminum North Liberty In. Maintenance Technician: Aluminum extrusion and anodizing operation with 3 extrusion presses ranging 1675-3200 tons. Maintenance involved but not limited to pneumatic, electrical, hydraulic, plumbing, removing and installing of presses and equipment, fabricating, troubleshooting, repair and rebuilding of all equipment processing and secondary, to include cranes and building. 3/85-7/87 Electro Transfer Systems South Bend In. Maintenance Mechanic: Wire harness manufacturing with 18 compression and injection molding machines, 35-175 tons; 11 automatic/robotic wire cutting/terminating machines; 23 stamping presses,2-125 tons. Maintenance consisted of establishing a PM/PdM program to include SPC guidelines, also included in the program was progressive stamping dies. Rebuilding and modernizing of equipment that was 40 plus years old, that out produced the up to date equipment. These actions and process improvements allowed for many plant production quotas and actual rates to be raised over 150%. 6/74-3/76 1/71-12/73 U.S. Army Communications Chief: Military service in communications (wire and radio communication). Was 1 of 2 people qualified at Ft Knox Ky., to have a tank turret removed for wiring problems. Lead a communication squad/shop. Also was a grader |
