All carbon steel plate shall fulfill with: Carbon Equivalent Max. (CE)= 0.4% Calculated as follows: C.E.= C + Mn/6 + (Cr+Mo+V)/5 + (Cu+Ni)/15, also Cb+V<0.1% 2. For 0.5" Thk. plate and above: maximum sulphur 0.005% and treated for shape control, vacuum degassed, UT required according to ASTM A-578 level 1 suplement SI.
