Robotic Sponsorship Inquiry (采购产品): Robotic Sponsorship 6000 S. Winegard Rd. Orlando, FL 32809 October 27, 2006 Dear, Prospective Sponsor First off, I would like to thank you for taking the time to read this letter. I represent the Oak Ridge High School (Orlando, FL) FIRST robotics team. If you do not know what FIRST (For the Inspiration and Recognition of Science and Technology) is, it is a robotics competition for high school students That challenges the students each year with different tasks. We are given a very limited time to build this and we need all of the help we can get. For more information on FIRST please visit the website at: www.USFirst.org. Our team has approximately 25 members who are signed up. We receive support from many other institutions in the form of mentoring, but we receive no technical support. Last season we had a machinist from the Orlando Science Center, but during the season he fell ill. Thankfully he has recovered, but is no longer working for the science center. Currently during the off-season we are working on two different drivetrain prototypes: an omniwheel drive and a robot that steers similar to a car. We are now making the steering robot more advanced and working on making it four-wheeled drive. This is anticipated to require copious amounts of machining and waterjetting. We do not have the capability to do this. It could have been possible with the manual mill we had before, but one of the gears shattered while in use. This leaves us without any large tools to machine parts with. Waterjetting would also open up many new avenues for us to explore that would not have been possible before with our limited resources. . Team 665, MAYHEM* would like to ask you for a machining and/or waterjetting sponsorship. Any discounts you could provide or if you were so generous, free machining and/or waterjetting, would be of great benefit to us. In turn, if you extended these services to us, we would promote your business by putting your company’s logo on the base of our robot. There are approximately 50 teams that come to the Florida Regional, which is one of the competitions that high schools from the Florida area and a little further away come to. Since Sanford is a convenient location , these high schools after seeing the logo, would be inclined to come to you for the machining of parts. Hopefully this would be beneficial to the growth of your business as well as the welfare of our team. Please consider this proposal.
