My last employer was Ford Motor Company. Their domestic troubles forced the closing of several regional offices including Philadelphia, where I proudly worked for 14 years. As I did not wish to relocate, I reluctantly chose a layoff. I was an Administrative Coordinator which, in a regional field office, meant you did everything to keep the office running smoothly so your sales force can “sell metal.” I considered every Ford and dealership employee my customer since, simply put, my job was to support my management. What am I looking for in a company? I’m looking for a position where I can put down roots and dedicate my talents and experiences to something special again. My people skills are my strongest asset and had led to considerable success in my career. I like creating an atmosphere of care and belonging since I believe it reflects a company’s values and humanity. I need to be proud of the company I choose to work for – I want a company of integrity to appreciate and appreciate me. A company proud of its past and hopeful of its future is a company I want to be a part of again. What can I offer a company? Besides my experiences in administration and human resources – dedication, loyalty, maturity, ability and the need to make a difference is what I’ve given my companies in the past. I’ve been rewarded by great compensation and benefits to be sure, but even more special, I’ve developed strong relationships and deep friendships that have enriched my life. I want that again. I want to work with a tight group of people to accomplish great things again. I thrive in a manufacturing environment, and I want to feel the excitement again of production done with pride. My salary and bonuses at Ford were merit based dependent upon very strict guidelines of formal performance reviews. My last decade of performance reviews were “outstanding,” the highest level in the country’s field offices in my classification, and my salary was reflected by those performances. However, I look forward to inventing myself for an organization that can respect my experiences and appreciate my talents so I am looking for a salary around $40,000, which is still negotiable.
