RFQ on SMC, BMC & RIM processes Inquiry (采购产品): RFQ on SMC, BMC & RIM processes October 9, 2006 Good Morning, My name is Michael Zent. I am a graduate student at Northwestern University. I am investigating the potential uses of Sheet Material Compound (SMC), Bulk Material Compound (BMC) and Reaction Injection Molding (RIM) to produce the part (stadium bench seat) seen below. I would like to ask you a few questions about your company and its potential ability to produce the part shown above. These questions should only take a few minutes to answer. Any quotes that are requested below can be best guesses. I do not need exact numbers. I am just trying to gather data for a materials selection class. 1.) Is your company capable of producing the part shown above (dimensions may be modified to fit your process)? 2.) Would your company be able to produce this part out of SMC, BMC or RIM? If so, please list all applicable processes. 3.) For all applicable processes, what would be the piece part cost for 5,000 pieces and 50,000 pieces? 4.) For all applicable processes, what would be the cost of customer owned tooling for this part? 5.) For all applicable processes, what would be the lead-time for production orders and tooling? 6.) If possible, could I have a sample of a current product that you make using SMC, BMC or RIM?
