She has now told me to look for the supply of Steel billets. The buyer is known to her and she is sure to get a long term contract and may be for years together. May I request you to kindly use your good office to find out a suitable source for me. The details are as follows: The technical requirement of Steel billets is as under and if you can give me your idea price then I will be able to proceed with LOI and BCL Technical details 1. Either 130 x 130 m, length 12 m. AST 60 2. Or 130 x 130, length 12 m GOST SP5PS Quantities: Abt. 10.000 m/t per month and the contract will be for 1 year or more. The client is used to get a 180 days credit. Moreover, it goes like this. A contract is presented and a proforma- invoice. Then, the client opens a non-operative L/C. The L/C becomes operative as soon as the supplier provides a performance bond of 4 % of the total invoice value. The supplier should be able to offer the same conditions. I hope that offering 180 days terms under irrevocable confirmed L/C is not a big thing as it is a matter of cost only which will come as a part of the interest cost from the bank for the extended credits. Suppliers will be able to manage this.
