Inquiry (采购产品): Application for Ni Laterite Ore Dear Sir, We are interested in upgrading the Ni Laterite Ore with applying your dry separation technique. My company, Sumitomo Metal Mining Co. Ltd imports Ni Laterite ore (Saprolite) mainly from Indonesia and New Caledonia to make Ferro Nickel for stainless steel. The average ore grade is 2.3% Ni, however, recently the assay of the Nickel Ore is decreasing due to lack of high grade resources. If the ore can be upgraded from 2.0%Ni to 2.2%Ni, the amounts of resources will increase significantly. The preliminary tests results indicated that the combination of screen and gravity separation could upgrade ore from 2.0% to 2.2% with 80% to 90% recovery. The results encouraged the possibilities for upgrading, however, wet process may cause the increase of transportation costs and difficulties of EMS approvals. If dry separation is possible, those problems can be solved. We are planning to construct the pilot plant in 2009. The possibility of the dry process must be studied as soon as possible. Please send the detail information of your Products and the price of sample work for it. We will discuss with the mine site in the first of October about this issue, so, your quick response is very appreciated. Iichi Nakamura Senior Metallurgist, Sumitomo Metal Mining Co.
