office space and cabinet project Inquiry (采购产品): office space and cabinet project Regarding: RFP for living-room desk space and shelves as per attached plan. I found you through my membership on Angie’s List where you get a grade A review from a recent customer. We want a home-office desk-workspace with shelving on top installed in our living room. The overall dimensions are 140” wide, 22” deep (for the desk space), 90” high. The bottom, desk space, is 22” deep and 30” high. The top part (shelving and cabinets) is 11” deep and 60” high. Unfortunately I drew this incorrectly on the attached map, where it looks (wrongly!) as if the top and the bottom piece are of the same depth. My apologies for this. My attempt for a plan can be found on the next page. Let me also try in words to explain it, starting at the bottom left, going to the right. 1. First level – The workspace level. 30” high, 22” wide, 140” wide a. The first element is a drawe element, consisting of 5 drawers of varying size. The last element, labeled ‘Slide’, is an extra work-space, that can be pulled out for an extra 20” of workspace. b. The next element is just an open cabinet with two doors, in which we will store a knee-chair. The doors can be slid back into the cabinet after being opened so that they are not in the way when working. c. The next element is a simple two-shelve cabinet in which I will store my two computers (small formfactor). d. The next element is another open cabinet of the same form and function as 2. e. The next element consists of a drawer on top and then two file cabinets 2. Second level – three supporting shelves, 24” high, 11” deep (left and right), 6” deep (middle) a. The first element is a two-shelve, cabinet with a simple door b. The middle element is 4 shelve cabinet, 27” wide, 24” high, 6” deep. The reason this is only 6” is that there is a structural mural column at this place of my wall, as I tried to indicate on the top of the plan (dimension of 15.25” x 5.5”). c. The right element is a 4-drawe element, 12” wide, 11” deep, 24” high 3. The third level – three cabinets behind frosted glass doors and three bookshelves a. The first element is a three shelve cabinet behind a frosted glass door, 19.75” wide, 36” high, 11” deep b. The second element is two three shelve cabinets behind two frosted glass doors, 37” wide, 36” high, 11” deep c. The last element is a three-level bookshelve, 84” wide, 11” deep, 36” high with one supporting element. I know that this is a bit of a stretch and might sag. Either you or I will support the shelves with metal bars or the like. The back of them will have to be cut to fit snug to the mural column and then to the wall. So the depth for the first 15.25” will be only ~6” before it becomes the full 11”. As for material, I’d like it to be either wood (maple) or plywood with maple-wood surface. The bottom shall be stained dark, the desk surface slightly lighter and the top natural. Also, to be perfectly honest, I will get 2-3 RFP for this project as it is clearly a more expensive piece of furniture (at least for my budget…) I am very much looking forward to hearing from you and hopefully working on this piece with you.
