For our DR Plant we r having three Dust collection System this system mainly containing a cyclone, scrubber, fan, and associated ductwork for the removal of the dust generated in DR plant. The purpose of dust collection is to collect & control dust that is generated during the material handling operations. There are three (3) important reasons for controlling dust. 1. Environment: Most important is to protect the air or environment for employees and the surrounding community. 2. Equipment Protection: Prevent excessive equipment maintenance. The majority of the dust generated is metallized fines which are highly abrasive and corrosive. Metallized dust that is not controlled and allowed to settle on equipment will wear our and corrode equipment in the plant. 3. Fire prevention: Prevents fires due to highly volatile met fines. Density of met fines creates an extremely dangerous condition if fines are left to collect. The existing Dust collection system’s performance is very inefficient and undersized for the current plant production; the existing equipment’s lack of performance is evident in the amount of fugitive dust accumulations about the conveyors & lack of collection at each pick-up. Frequent dust accumulation in scrubber venturi, mist eliminator along with inlet & outlet line & fan impeller which leads to poor performance of equipments consequently periodical (every alternate day) cleaning is required. Due to inefficient performance of dust collection in cyclone, dust concentration collected in sump is high which cause frequent choking of discharge line through sump, resulting in poor performance of pumps. We are looking for the party who can evaluate the various equipment bottlenecks based on the given, available data’s and site visits & design the system which provide the most cost effective & reliable solutions and have MTO & RFQ’s for an EPIC. Target & expected results at the end of project is Improvement in cyclone & venturi scrubber for collection efficiency & targets higher stacks emission of less than 25 mg/m3 of exhausted air.
