As a class we have been exploring the Internet to learn about the companies who make the products we enjoy, eat, purchase, and talk about in our daily lives. This is also part of an incentive program our class is conducting called, “Banking On Above The Line Behaviors.” This program is teaching us to make smart and responsible choices. We earn “money” for acting responsibly in our classroom and school and this has given us great incentive to make good decisions on our own. We’ve incorporated this program into our math lessons, learning how to balance our checkbooks and handle our income and expenses. As a magnet school for math, science, and technology, this fits right in with what we want to be learning at our school. The success of our program depends in part on the charitable contributions our favorite companies are willing to make. The smallest donations are most welcome-anything that would signify your interest in our educational experience would be valuable to us. Your contribution would be among the incentive prizes we would have for our final auction, where we each spend the “money” we have earned through this program. We are a small school in a rural area; Cyrus is a town of 305 people. It’s been exciting for us to learn about companies all over the country.
