Inquiry (采购产品): plating I am currently working on determining an appropriate plating for a spline and the hub. These parts will be part of the a new 25 mm weapon. The spline shafts will be used to actuate the gears for indexing and feeding the round. The spline shafts are made from either 15-5 SS or 17-4, age hardened to H900, and the hub material (gear) is made from alloy steel with a hardness callout of 33-38. My question for you is whether we use the same type of plating/coating on both spline & hub & what is our best option, due to the intricacy of the spline (both have 10+ teeth with a small pitch), along with a force being applied of somewhere in the range of 20-60 pounds depending on the application. We would like this surface coating to provide a good wear resistance (in order to increase fatigue life) and have a low coefficient of friction along with being environmental resistant to oil solvents & we need to keep costs somewhat reasonable. Perhaps you can direct me with the best possible solution. If we can get a coating that matches the majority of our needs, with the trade off of corrosion resistance, that would be fine. **** Hidden Message ***** Amy Miner 128 Lakeside Ave South Burlington, VT 05401 USA Company: General Dynamics Title: Engineer Phone: 802-657-6240 Fax: 802-657-6799 E-mail: aminer@gdatp.com **** Hidden Message ***** aminer@gdatp.com
