NSN: 8105-01-284-2923 – Bag, Waste Receptacle, Paper: UNIT OF ISSUE: BE FOB destination Virginia QTY 416 BAG, WASTE RECEPTACLE, PAPER: IN ACCORDANCE WITH THE FOLOWING STIPULATIONS: 1. TYPE - Regular 2. STYLE - Self opening. 3. SIZE - Face width, 305 mm (12 inches) Bottom width, 229 mm (9 inches) Bag length, 483 mm (19 inches) 2FYC-HI-07-0028-N 4. CLOSURE - None required 5. LOAD CAPACITY - 5.4 kg (12 pounds) 6. Construction. The bags shall be self opening style, as specified. The bags shall be fabricated from single or multiple plies of paper, and be treated for wet strength in accordance with normal commercial practice. Bags shall not utilize any type of plastic in its construction. Seams and overlaps shall be securely sealed throughout their area with waterproof adhesive. Load capacity shall be as specified, when tested in accordance with 8., herein. 7. Dimensions. Dimensions shall be as specified, with a tolerance of 6.4 mm ( 1/4") on dimensions 30 cm (12") or less, and 12.7 mm ( 1/2") on dimensions greater than 30 cm (12"). The dimensions of square bags shall be expressed as Face Width x Tuck Width x Bag Length. The dimensions of self opening bags shall be expressed as Face Width x Bottom Width x Bag Length, or by Bag Number and Cubic Capacity. When size is specified by Bag Number, the Cubic Capacity shall be not less than specified, and shall be calculated by multiplying face width by bottom width by bag length. 8. Load capacity test. A group of full metal food cans weighing 455-910 grams (1.0 - 2.0 pounds) each whose total weight equals the load capacity specified in the contract or order shall constitute the test load. Each sample bag shall be completely immersed in tap water at 21 3oC (70 5oF) for at least 1 hr, before adding the test load. Remove each sample bag from the water, immediately open it, and gently place the test load inside. Within 2 minutes after removing the bag from the water, grasp or clamp the bag containing the test load within 30 cm (12") from the top and raise vertically at least 15 cm (6"). Hold the bag and test load in this position for not less than 60 seconds. Any spillage of the test load constitutes failure of this test. WORKMANSHIP: The material shall be uniformly fabricated in accordance with good commercial practice, and free from cracks, cuts, holes, chafed spots, or other defects which impair its usefulness. The material shall be free from dirt, contamination, mold release compounds, or other foreign matter. Product Conformance: The products provided shall meet the salient characteristics of this item description. The quality of the product sold to the government shall be equal to or better than the quality of the product sold by the manufacturer in the commercial market. PACKAGING/PACKING: Two hundred (200) bags shall be packaged into a bale in accordance with normal commercial practice. The shipping container shall not exceed 51 pounds in weight.MARKING: For civilian destinations - In accordance with FED-STD-123G, dated June 6, 1997. For military destinations - In accordance with MIL-STD-129P, dated December 15, 2002, and Change 3, dated October 29, 2004. Bar code marking shall be included for both civilian and military destinations.
