The entire Radio should be saran wrapped then lots of 1" bubble wrap wrapped around it, protecting all sides the boxed. For the second box, whether you use a wood box or a heavy cardboard box, try to make sure that you can suspend the boxed Radio allowing at least 3-4 inches of Styrofoam pellets on all sides.
