Inquiry (采购产品): Collecting lead times I am a senior in the Industrial & Systems Engineering program at Virginia Polytechnic Institute & State University (Virginia Tech), and I am doing research regarding the different processes for collecting lead times for low volume, high mix facilities. I would like to pose a few questions to facilitate my research for my senior design project: - How are lead times collected in the facility (the amount of time the product is in the shop)? - Is there a standard equation used for all parts in order to calculate projected lead times, or does it vary for each part? - Is there a priority system implemented in the facility in order to notify employees of which parts should be worked on next? I am working with the Sheet Metal Shop and Pipe Shop at Northrop Grumman Newport News on their lead time metric, and as a senior design team we are benchmarking other facilities that fabricate similar products. If you would like to simply send the answers by responding to this email, it would be greatly appreciated.
