I need to speak to the plant engineer/supervisor or operations manager from your company re: these presses (Stampings/deep drawing). We here at Machineco have presses that are multiple station transfer presses (a special type of punch presses). Strip metal comes in one the right side, and travels under a series of punches and dies in stations, side by side, all travelling up and down together. Each station makes a small change to the profile of the strip travelling through, shaping, squeezing and forming it to the final shape, until the finished product comes out the right side. The number of stations determines the complexity of the part it makes. Our presses have up to 15 stations. So it can make for example an ammunition cartridge case from a strip, for each time the press goes back up. They cycle at about 90-120 blows per second i.e the stroke rate produces that number of finished parts per minute.
