YOU COULD BE THE ORGANIZER OF THE “BIGGEST AND BEST” ACTIVITY OF THE YEAR! WHITEWATER RAFTING on the NANTAHALA RIVER!!! Dear Team Leader, White Water Rafting is a great team building experience for your group. The Nantahala River is the most popular white water river in the Eastern United States. It is nestled in the heart of the Nantahala Forest, down deep in the Nantahala River Gorge. Cherokee for “Noon Da Le” meaning river of the noon day sun. You will be furnished with everything you need for your trip, plus the best River and Safety instruction available for the Nantahala River. We have all sorts of rafts, all sizes and types. The typical group raft trip will use our 5/6 man rafts, and our 7/8 man rafts. Meaning 5 or 6 people, or 7 or 8 people per craft. We have Fully Guided trips, Guide assisted, and Be your own Boss Rental trips. Our most popular trip is our “Be Your Own Boss - Rental trip” where we provide all of the equipment, shuttle, instructions and safety information, and let you and your group navigate the river on your own. We’ll drop you off at the top, watch you for the first couple of minutes, give you a hoot and holler during your trip, and pick you up at the bottom. If it is your first trip down the river, the most popular trip is our Guide Assisted trip. This is where we put a guide in the first boat of the trip, we call our “Trip Leader”, and we have one or two guides in the back of the trip we call our “Sweep Guides”. They sweep the river, and help any self guided boats that are having too much fun by themselves, and keep the trip moving together. In the middle of the trip are other guided boats, and self guided boats. Basically the Trip Leader sets the pace, and shows the lines of the river to the other boats. Then we all ramble down the Nantahala River together enjoying the most fun you can possibly have on a group outing. White Water Rafting trips are the best trips of the year! We have heard it too many times, so we know that it is true! We have groups of 100 and more and less that raft with us every year. Some that raft several times per year. The prices we quote you are all inclusive, taxes and fees included. No gimmicks, just plain up front pricing, and plain up front great service. We do have cold weather gear in the form of wet suits, booties, and splash suits if you decide to take one of our duckie trips. Duckies or Funyaks are inflatable Kayaks, or canoes that one or two people paddle down the river. They are usually taken by the more experienced paddlers, or paddlers who have gone down the river in a raft before, and are looking for a little more excitement in their trip. At Paddle Inn, the second trip down the river the same day is ? price of the regular rates. Now, that is a real bargain. It costs more to go to a movie than it does to spend the afternoon on the river. We have Pizza by the River, and Ropers Bar-BQ shack, just across the road from Paddle Inn. Take an early morning trip at Paddle Inn, stop and eat, and get back on the afternoon run for a whole day of rafting. Or, bring a sack lunch, and enjoy our riverside facilities for a riverside snack between your runs. Break down into different groups, and try the smaller rafts, puma’s and duckies on your second run. We realize that planning an event like this requires substantial organization, logistics and time.
