Prefab piping spools Inquiry (采购产品): Prefab piping spools I am working at the Sunoco Marcus Hook Refinery and have aproject which requires on the order of 1200 feet of 20" pipe. The Sunoco pipe standard for the application calls for the pipe to be steel, schedule 20 galvanized, with no flanged lengths. For argument's sake I am looking for a way to minimize the onsite work. Do you think it would be practical to make up a length of 20" pipe with the ends ground ready for welding, with lifting lugs and support shoes installed, each length already assembled with steam tracer tubing, insulation and aluminum jacketing? My thinking is the support shoes could be clamped or bolted to a beam lying across the bed of the truck to protect the insulation and jacketing from damage in transport. 550 feet of this run is a straight shot - the line is for water, maintained in a narrow temperature band so expansion is not likely to be an issue. If we had perhaps 40' lengths of the 20" 3/8" wall galvanized pipe with two inverted T support shoes and two lifting lugs, two 1/2" SS tubing tracers at 5 and 7 o'clock on the underside of the pipe, 2" formed FG or mineral wool insulation with an aluminum jacket with SS straps ending one foot from each end, with the tubing extending out from the insulation and jacketing a couple inches on each end, with the ends ground to clear away the zinc, and beveled ready for welding - what would the order of magnitude cost be for 14 such lengths? I understand you would need full details for accurate final pricing, and there is a great deal more on the job which could be similarly handled, but which would require more detail with elbows, etc. I'm being told to look in Louisiana and Oklahoma for this work, but I thought this might be just up your alley.
