stainless steel casting Inquiry (采购产品): stainless steel casting I am an artist based out of Louisville, KY. I specialize in custom fabrication of furniture and sculpture. I usually work with sheet metal, heavy plate, pipe and tube. I have a client who is interested in commissioning a "Field Cross" for a Vietnam War Memorial. Such memorials are usually cast of Bronze, however, they are seriously considering stainless steel. I know very little about casting, though there is a very successful bronze sculptor I can speak with, however, I need to know more about the process and costs involved. A field cross, if your not familar, is a very powerful image. Solders make a grave for their comrades who are killed in battle. The grave has very specific elements. The soldiers boots are placed on the ground facing forward, rifle is stuck in the ground by the bayonet, and the soldiers helmet is placed on top of the rifle butt. If I create the mold, can you pour the stainless? The dimensions are life size, one pair of mens boots, one helmet and one rifle. The sculpture will be secured to a granite base. I will fabricate the mounting fixture. This memorial is going to be built. The question is, will they go with traditional bronze, like all other memorials, or will it be made of stainles steel? I would greatly appreiate a ball park figure quote to pour my mold, and any other information you think I should know. I am very excited about this project and hopeful that we will see more memorials constructed of stainless vs. bronze. Thank you so much for your time. telephone: 502.367.6181 ask for Zac or Neisja **** Hidden Message ***** Zac Crawford 3163 S. 3rd Street Louisville, KY 40214 USA Company: o.z. sculptors, LLC Title: owner Phone: 502.367.6181 E-mail: neisjacrawford@aol.com **** Hidden Message ***** neisjacrawford@aol.com |
