PROPERTY AND REQUIREMENTS FOR MEDIA BOTTLES 2.1 Receiving inspection shall ship two cases, randomly selected, from each production lot directly to Cordis Microbiology, Miami Lakes, Fl for pryogen and particulate testing. Property of Media Bottles Requirement Test Method 2.1.1 Bottle Material Borosilicate Type I Certificate of Analysis 2.1.2 Pyrogen Free Less than 0.25 EU/ml Certificate of Analysis 2.1.3 Particulate Free Less than 6000 particles >10 micron and not more than 600 particles > 25 microns in effective spherical diameter per container Certificate of Analysis 2.1.4 Cap Material Polypropylene with friction fit Teflon liner (Adhesive free) Certificate of Analysis 2.1.5 Bottle Size and Cap Color As specified by Cordis P/N Certificate of Analysis 3. SAFETY PRECAUTIONS 3.1 N/A. 4. PACKAGING, MARKING, HANDLING and STORAGE 4.1 PACKAGING 4.1.1 Shipping containers shall be suitable for ground/air transportation and designed to prevent breakage during normal shipping and handling. 4.1.2 Bottles shall be double bagged for use in clean room operations. 4.2 MARKING 4.2.1 Each container / shipper must be clearly identified with the following information: 4.2.1.1. Supplier Name and Location 4.2.1.2 Product Identity / Item Description 4.2.1.3 Manufacturer’s Batch Number 4.2.1.4 Appropriate Governmental and Industry Identification Numbers (example CAS number) as applicable. 4.2.1.5 Expiration Date as Required 4.2.1.6 Cordis Item Number / Manufacturer’s Catalog Number 4.2.1.7 Cordis Purchase Order Number 4.2.1.8 Quantity 4.2.1.9 Hazards Note: If it is not possible to label the container / shipper with the Cordis Item Number, the manufacturer’s number must be present. The manufacturer’s item number must then be cross-referenced with the Cordis Item Number on the shipping documentation. The Cordis purchase order number must accompany all shipments. It is recommended that it be referenced on all shipping containers. If that is not possible, it must be referenced in the shipping documentation. 4.3 HANDLING 4.3.1 Special handling is not required 4.4 STORAGE 4.4.1. Special storage is not required. 5. CERTIFICATION 5.1 CERTIFICATE OF CONFORMANCE 5.1.1 The supplier shall provide a Certificate of Conformance to indicate the following information. The Certificate of Conformance must accompany the shipment or be received prior to the shipment. 5.1.1.1 Supplier Name and Location 5.1.1.2 Product Identity / Item Description 5.1.1.3 Cordis Item Number or Manufacturer’s Catalog Number 5.1.1.4 Batch / Lot Number 5.1.1.5 Cordis Purchase Order Number 5.1.1.6 Applicable Cordis specifications and engineering drawings with revision level. 5.1.1.7 Acceptability / Certification Statement (to include verification that there were no transposition errors. 5.1.1.8 Certificate Authorization Signature and Date. Note: If it is not possible to include the Cordis Item Number on the Certificate of Conformance, the manufacturer’s catalog number must be present. The manufacturer’s catalog number must then be cross-referenced with the Cordis item number in the shipping documentation. If it is not possible to include the applicable Cordis specifications and drawing numbers with revision levels on the Certificate of Conformance, they must be referenced in the shipping documentation.
