Inquiry (采购产品): Polycarbonate Part With Vacuum Metalized Mirror Finish From China Dear Sir,I am a design engineer with Razer USA in San Francisco. We have a new part design that will be used in a computer peripheral product. I am contacting you because you have experience molding and coating motorcycle helmet visors, which is like the part we need to have molded and coated with a semi-reflective surface.The parts is a semitransparent mirror that will be used to reflect an image back to the user as well as allow the used to see through the part. As conceived the part will be injection molded in gray tinted polycarbonate material, and it will have a semi-transparent vacuum metalized coating on one surface. We are open to other suggestions for materials and coating processes as necessary to meet the performance and cost demands. As this will be a high-volume consumer product, low cost will be very important.Quantities will be 200,000 over the first year, with potential for another 200k over the life of the product. Run rates will be roughly 20k/month. Please advise your lead-time from part release to first sample.Our CM/ODM will purchase the parts on our behalf and they will also receive the shipments of parts there. They do not have expertise in this area and have asked for us to identify a supplier for them.We are not yet sure the exactly how reflective the metalized surface will need to be, or how dark to tint the base surface, so a vendor who can supply samples before molding or happily make a number samples of the molded parts in different materials and coatings will be at the top of our list. We will need to test the parts in early builds (EVT/DVT) to determine the appropriate material and coating.I have attached a 3D model of the part (.step file) and a pdf of the drawing.
