Inquiry (采购产品): Informational Sales Request Sales Department: Good day, SHieLD Innovative Packaging Solutions is a consulting group with the University of Wisconsin – Stout Packaging Program. We are currently working with Morris Material Handling out of Sun Prairie, WI on a senior level packaging development project. Morris Material Handling (MMH) is a hoist and crane manufacturer who is currently seeking different packaging solutions for their M-Series Hoists due to a rise in packaging costs. MMH is currently using a job-shop type of packaging production process on each M-Series hoist. They are at this time using only lumber to build custom pallets and skids for each individual hoist. The existing system consists of simply bolting the hoists to the custom pallet and using metal straps to provide added stability. MMH is a stable company that ships approximately 500 M-Series Hoists per year within North America and internationally. The M-Series hoists range from 800 lbs. - 2 tons in overall product weight. The hoists are being shipped overland by flatbed truck and overseas by cargo ship in crates (overseas shipments would need to have approved materials). The current package design is costing MMH approximately $50 per unit which includes labor and material costs. MMH produces a wide series of hoists ranging in many different maximum lengths and widths. The minimum width is 3.1ft ., minimum length is 2.7ft., maximum width is 5.4ft., and maximum length is 7.9ft. These minimums and maximums are in no way interconnected to each other, meaning that the minimum length does not necessarily go with the minimum width and likewise for the maximums. We have attached a spreadsheet which breaks down the pallets into five sizes. We would like to receive preliminary quotes from you based on those five sizes. We are looking to standardize and consolidate MMH's packaging process into a more simple method while greatly reducing the packaging costs. This could include using vendors and suppliers, such as your company, to supply MMH with pallets/skids and crates. We are writing this letter as a possible business opportunity for your company, and we are asking for your assistance. Any help or solution Wisconsin Box Company gives us will be passed on to MMH for their review, through our final business packaging proposal; the solutions could be utilized by them in the future.
