request for proposal Inquiry (采购产品): request for proposal February 3, 2006 To whom it may concern: I am in need of a shop that can rework a stainless steel counter top for me. I purchased the custom top from a fabricator in Italy that no longer is in business. The top is used in a kitchen island and has two sinks that were originally welded into place in the top and then the entire top was polished. Everything was beautiful except that the sinks were incorrectly sized and came in to small. The Italians did a nice job in the finishing, as the top looks as if the sinks were pressed out of a stainless steel blank, rather than being welded and polished. So, my plan is to find a fabricator that can work in stainless steel and repair the problem. Basically, the idea is simple. I would like to have you torch (cut) out the two sinks that are currently in the top, and replace them with two new sinks that I will supply. Once the new tops are in place, I would like the entire top polished so that the finish appears as if the two sinks were always integral to the top. There is also a little dent, very shallow, no more than the size of a quarter, that needs to be flattened out in the polishing. To give you a sense of the top’s size and condition. The top is 97 ?” x 48 ?” x 1 5/8”. For scale, the current sinks in the photos are 32 ?” long x 13 ?” wide x 7 ?” deep. The new sinks will be about 32 ?” x 18” x 7 ?” (those extra 6” in width makes a big difference in putting dishes into the sink!). I would appreciate your response and an estimate of the cost and time to do this work. I would like you to include freight and packaging back to me. I will remove the top, have it crated, and send it to you, along with the two sinks I want installed. I will also provide a drawing so that there is no question as to where the new sinks need to be placed. Thank you very much for your consideration and early response.
