B. DETAIL ENGINEERING 1) PROCUREMENT This mainly involves the following activities :- 1) Preparation of specifications for various instruments like Orifice plates, Control Valves, Safety Valves etc. 2) Technical bid analysis for instruments which includes evaluation of technical offers / engineering data sheets, technical bid recommendation and price comparison summary. 3) Preparation of order specifications for various instruments based on technical data sheets furnished by selected vendor, technical bid analysis and correspondence during order negotiations. 4) Checking and approval of vendor documentation. 5) Inspection and testing of critical items at vendor’s shop. 2) DESIGN ENGINEERING This mainly includes the following activities :- 1) Preparation of instrument summary / index. 2) Design calculations for : - Control Valves - Safety Valves - Orifice Plates 3) Following DCS Engineering activity : - Preparation of DCS database. - Preparation of DCS Graphics. - Checking DCS vendor drawings. - Preparation of Loop diagrams. 4) Following Installation activity : - Preparation of Instrument Hook-ups. - Preparation of Installation documents. - Preparation of Cable Schedule. - Preparation of Instrument layouts i.e. instrument location and cable tray routing. C.
