Inquiry (采购产品): Safety Question I am considering using the #1 plastic used in 2 and 3 liter "soda bottles" as a material to vacuum form. That is, to cut the bottle apart, clamp a section into a frame, heat it until it is soft, and vacuum form it over molds. I am concerned about the possibility that the plastic will either catch fire or give off toxic fumes. Otherwise, I believe it is a polyester thermoplastic that is tough and should work very nicely for things like canopies for larger RC airplanes. The side benefit is a "recycled" 2-liter bottle. Can I use heat to soften a 2-liter bottle? What is the safe temperature range (if any)? Is there a danger from toxic fumes/by-products? Thank you for your time and trouble. **** Hidden Message ***** Richard Leclercq 53154 USA Company: Private person E-mail: hardlec@hotmail.com **** Hidden Message ***** hardlec@hotmail.com
