We are in need of a supplier of wheels and casters for our product. www.buymobileshop.com What you see in the picture are Colson’s. They do not fit the design need I’m looking for an 8x2 rear wheel that is very light in weight has about a 200 lb. capacity and an offset hub so the end of the axle does not protrude past the wheel edge and catch on doorways. I would like it not to have any spokes or ribs that could hold dirt. I’m considering a hub cap with our logo molded into it or I’m considering chromed plastic hubs with yellow zinc look to match the coating on the front caster. I think a Delrin bearing will do fine, maybe we’ll consider a zerk fitting for long term lubrication. The front caster needs to be light in weight but rugged enough to take the pounding from the unit being dropped from the dolly towing position to the push-pull position. It also needs to perform well across rocks and on carpet so we need a wide width of about 2” but we probably cannot afford to have dual wheels where rocks will get caught, I’m thinking something like a 3x2 aviation cargo caster would be great. We will be mounting the caster at the corner of a 1” x 1” 18 ga. Steel tubing intersection (L) so the mounting plate (or shaft?) needs to be optimized for this. We will be looking to buy in lots of 2000 each, 10,000 each for the first year ramping to 100,000 each by year three of operations. Price is a big deal so break out your tooling and fixture costs from the long term production price. I don’t care where you source your components from, but I want a QS 9000 controlled product.
