I am starting a potato growing operation. It is a trial project using compost in 1m3 bags. As this is a small scale operation I only require low throughput equipment. I think 1-2 tonnes per hour would be enough for this size project, if the concept is viable, up scaling would commence in about 12 months. I will detail what I require. I will be using bags with bottom release, discharging from a hoist into a hopper. I require. Screen to separate potatoes from growing medium, hopper for each fraction. Conveyor to discharge growing media into FIBC 1m3 bag, height of bag from floor 1.2m. Conveyor to discharge potatoes into washing machine. Washing machine for potatoes. Drying machine Sizing screen to produce under and over 50mm (please advise most common grade sizes if 50mm is unusual) Potato grades. Separate hoppers for each grade. Conveyors to discharge each hopper independently to bagging machine. Bagging machine for 5kg and 2.5kg plastic bags. Bag closing, either tape or heat sealing. I will consider new and used equipment.
